Assumption of RiskRelease & Media Consent

1What This Is

This is an informal community run and walk. It is not a sanctioned, permitted, timed, or officiated race. There is no entry fee, no timing, no chips, no bibs, no closed course, and no traffic control. Nobody is directing vehicles. There is no medical staff on the route. Volunteers may point the way, but they are neither traffic officers nor medical professionals, and no one is supervising the route.

The entire route is on public park trails and sidewalks. Streets are crossed only at normal marked crosswalks. I am responsible for my own safety. I will obey all traffic signals and laws exactly as I would on any other day, I will cross only when it is safe, and I will not rely on anyone else to stop traffic or protect me.

2Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating carries risks. Those risks include, but are not limited to: falls; contact with other participants, spectators, vehicles, or animals; the effects of weather including heat, humidity, cold, rain, and sun; traffic and road and trail conditions; uneven or slippery surfaces; heart attack, heat exhaustion, dehydration, and other medical conditions; and the transmission of communicable disease.

I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating with knowledge of these risks, and I assume all of them, both known and unknown, including those that may arise from the negligence of others.

3Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, for myself and for my heirs, executors, administrators, and anyone else who might claim on my behalf, hereby release, waive, and discharge the following from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, and causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death I may suffer while participating in this event:

• The Elite Collective, LLC and Elevate Well™
• Caribbean SEAFEST Seattle and the Center for Linguistic and Cultural Democracy
• All sponsors, partners, and their representatives
• All officers, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, and agents of each of the above

4Medical Acknowledgment and Authorization

I confirm that I am physically able to participate, or that I have chosen to participate knowing my own condition, and that I have not been advised against participation by a medical professional.

I authorize emergency personnel to provide or arrange emergency medical treatment for me if I am unable to consent at the time, and I accept financial responsibility for that treatment. I understand that no medical insurance is provided. In an emergency, call 911.

5Participants Under 18

A participant under the age of 18 on August 9 may only join with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

6Media Release

I grant The Elite Collective, LLC, Elevate Well™, and Caribbean SEAFEST Seattle permission to photograph, film, and record me at this event, and to use those images, recordings, and my name and likeness in promotional, editorial, and commercial materials across any medium, now and in the future, without compensation and without further approval.

If you would prefer not to be filmed, do not check the media release box when you register. Tell a volunteer at the check-in table and we will note it.

7Agreement

I have read this document in full. I understand it is a release of liability and a contract. I sign it freely and voluntarily, and I intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by Washington law.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
